Supergirl is a legacy name used by women super-heroes involved with Superman and his family. The main and original version is Kara Zor-El, cousin of Superman from Krypton. She has been member of the Justice League and the Legion of Superheroes. The name has also been used by Matrix, a creature that changes shape from a universe, which later merged with a woman named Linda Danvers who develops angelic powers. Power Girl is the Earth-two version. Otto Binder and Plastino created Supergirl, appearing first in Action Comics # 252.
